Now that we’re well and truly into the second quarter of the year, the essence team can look back at the work we’ve achieved in the year to date with pride. Not only did we run innovative advertising and marketing campaigns for leading healthcare organisations, but we also marked a significant milestone at essence. We turned 10 – and celebrated the achievement with clients, supporters and staff in December. A decade in business brings about many achievements and growth.
We recently welcomed our new creative lead Clara to the team. Clara brings 15 years of award winning Art Direction industry experience to our client portfolio and will develop and deliver creative solutions to communicate important health messages to both medical professionals and the public.
As we welcome Clara to the fold, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on some of our
standout work from the past year:
Our Multiple Sclerosis Your Way campaign:
Following the international award-winning campaign Living Like You, a real look at life with Multiple Sclerosis, we helped bring the Novartis campaign to life locally. Through a digital campaign, we promoted a questionnaire to help people living with MS explain what it’s like living with the condition. It was designed to empower them to have more informed conversations with health professionals and manage their MS. In addition, we developed a search and display campaign that was rolled out through various online networks to effectively reach those living with MS and their supporters. This project followed our previous work on the MS Life Hacks campaign which we developed to help people with MS carry out everyday tasks many of us take for granted that are challenging for them.
Type 2 diabetes education campaign:
On 1 October 2018, Pharmac funded two new treatments for New Zealanders with Type 2 diabetes. The first new treatment in Diabetes for some time. Tens of thousands of people living diabetes are set to benefit for these new treatments, helping to manage their blood sugar levels without side effects such as weight gain or extremely low blood sugar. To help educate medical experts on the medication, we worked with our client to develop a variety of communication materials. This included patient support materials, resources and a trade campaign.
An education campaign about a new cancer treatment:
We were presented with the challenge of raising awareness about cancer treatments only available privately. Those living with cancer are often unaware of all their options when it comes to treatment, so our goal was to inform and educate people about KEYTRUDA® for use in the treatment of several different cancers. Our campaign was targeted towards those people living with cancer, their supporters, family and friends. We used a range of targeting tools to deliver the messages when people were actively looking for more information.
We partnered with Divergent Consulting to deliver the healthcare event TILT for the second year in a row. TILT is fast becoming one of the most exciting and interactive health industry events on the calendar for healthcare marketers and leaders in New Zealand. In September, over 40 healthcare delegates gathered at Grid AKL to learn about integrating digital tools to enhance communication and customer experiences. They heard from inspirational speakers, including iMOKO founder and New Zealander of the Year, Dr Lance O’Sullivan. This year we’ll be involved in TILT again and we can’t wait to bring you a superb line-up of speakers and topics which will be announced later in the year.
